Though the year 2025 got off to quite the rocky start, one thing that always brings joy in the midst of chaos is new life. Right before the year began, and shortly after, a number of famous Black women shared that they were pregnant. From rappers to actresses to basketball wives, little ones are on the way.
The latest blissful mamas-to-be include Nara Smith, everyone’s favorite soft-spoken influencer, model, wife, and mother. The 23-year-old beauty announced, alongside her husband, fellow model Lucky Blue, that they’re expecting their fourth child.
Remember Nneka Ihim from Real Housewives of Potomac? The short-lived cast member just welcomed her first child with husband Ikenna after being open on the show about their struggles to conceive in the past.
And lastly, for Teen Mom fans, Teen Mom: Next Chapter star Cheyenne Floyd Davis is pregnant with her third child, her second with husband Zach Davis. The couple also shared their fertility journey on the show, preparing viewers for their IVF experience when she found out, via the show’s season finale, that they conceived naturally.

Nneka Ihim left behind Real Housewives of Potomac to focus on expanding her family, and after opening up about her fertility journey, they made it happen. Nneka and husband Ikenna welcomed their son, Noah, on May 14. “I just stare at him and think, ‘Wow, this is the person that was kicking me in the ribs all those months,’ ” she told PEOPLE, jokingly. “He’s just so special. With all that I’ve been through and the two years it has taken us to get to this point.”
The Teen Mom star is expecting her second child with husband Zach Davis, her third overall. The couple were on the verge of starting IVF treatments after experience some struggles conceiving but found out they were expecting shortly before they were set to begin. “And when we had nothing left to give, we surrendered it all to God. We told Him we couldn’t carry it anymore — and He answered,” she wrote in an Instagram post after announcing her pregnancy on the Teen Mom: Next Chapter season finale. “Not in our timing, but in His. This little life is proof that even in the waiting, even in the heartbreak, miracles are still being written.”
After trying for four years, original Love Is Blind success story couple Lauren Speed-Hamilton and husband Cameron Hamilton announced they’re expecting their first child. They underwent IVF. The couple, open about their fertility struggles just last fall, are overjoyed. The news that they’re expecting came at a time when they needed to hear it most.
“I lost my father [at] Christmas of last year,” she shared with PEOPLE. “And so we took this test the end of January, beginning of February, so this was literally light in the darkness. This was like, wow. The spark that my whole family needed. We’ve been trying for a long time.”
The younger sister of Steph and Seth Curry just welcomed her third child with husband Damion Lee, who plays for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. In late 2024, they announced that they were expecting again, and it was a shock to Sydel not only because of previous fertility struggles, but also because she’d just welcomed their second child in the summer of 2023. Entrepreneur Yahaira “Yaya” Sandoval, known for being the CEO of Bloom Glam beauty bar and the Caiya clothing brand, is expecting her first child with former NFL star and Delaware State football coach DeSean Jackson. He has two sons from a prior relationship, and she has a son with a previous partner. Sandoval and Jackson have reportedly been an item since 2024.
The Grammy-winning Afro-Latina artist, born in Rio de Janeiro, is a new mom. She welcomed her first child, daughter Zuri, with wife Brunna Gonçalves, who carried their baby girl. “Zuri’s arrival changed everything,” the pair shared in a joint statement to PEOPLE. “Our love, which was already immense, multiplied. We are living in a moment of great joy and fulfillment, as if we were in paradise. Today, if someone asks me what love is, I know how to answer. I know how to explain.”
